Today I would like to talk to you about one of the most controversial issues between students and parents----Studying abroad or not.

Nowadays, there are more and more students choosing to go abroad for studying. Some of them go abroad after graduating from universities. Even some of them choose to go abroad after the college entrance examination. Also some students are sent abroad for studying at a younger age. For this phenomenon, everyone has different attitudes. There are some people supporting this behavior but also some people don’t agree it. Here are some main reasons about it.

We all know that the abroad study life can hone the will of people, exercise the independent thinking ability of students and gain the knowledge which they can’t acquire at home. On one hand, the students can learn the courses they are interested in when they study at a foreign school, on the other hand, the environment can promote students’ language development. But in fact, studying abroad not only needs to pay a lot of money but also requires students to have the strong ability to adapt new environment. Once the students can’t adapt to everything immediately, the life will be hard in the future.

My friend who is a shy girl with poor English was sent to England to study when she was in ninth grade. She told me that it was a difficult time for her when she just arrived. She can’t communicate with others fluently. Therefore, it’s hard to learn. She was very upset and wanted to return home at once. But after a period of time, she became accustomed to living abroad little by little. Now everything has changed for her. She made a lot of friends and took part in some meaningful activities to make her study life more colorful. One of my cousins who is a student graduated from the University of Sydney said the life of studying abroad is full of fresh things and challenges. It makes him become mature and independent so he really enjoys it!

      All in all, studying abroad or not, depends on own situations. Please consider carefully before you make the decision. After all, no matter where you are, you can achieve your dreams as long as you want. So make great efforts to study well！
